US Business Delegation Backs PHL Economic Reform with Digital Partnership Offers
A delegation of US business executives has expressed enthusiasm for partnering with the Philippines in its economic reform program. The group, led by the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), consisted of 35 companies including IBM Corp., Citi, and Lockheed Martin.
The US delegates praised the Philippine government's commitment to advancing its economic priorities, citing opportunities in digital transformation, infrastructure development, logistics, advanced manufacturing, energy, and digital connectivity. Stephen Braim, Co-Chairman of the USABC Philippines Committee, noted that the country has a unique opportunity to accelerate its digital leadership as transformative technologies like AI and quantum computing reshape economies.
The delegation also expressed support for the Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC), a multi-country agreement led by the Philippines, US, and Japan. The LEC aims to attract investment to key hubs in clean energy, rail freight, supply chain development, logistics, and digital connectivity.
