US Cloud Giants Negotiate Multi-Billion Dollar Deal with China's Moonshot AI

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), and Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) are in talks to host China's Moonshot AI on their cloud platforms, according to Reuters. The three companies are negotiating revenue-sharing agreements with Moonshot to host its Kimi K3 model, which matches the performance of GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.8 on key benchmarks.

Moonshot is seeking up to a 30% revenue share from Microsoft's Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud. The discussions are at an early stage, with unresolved issues including how revenue would be split and what data access Moonshot would receive.

The Kimi K3 model runs on 2.8 trillion parameters and is open-weight, allowing it to be downloaded and modified. Hosting the model on cloud platforms is a key route for commercial adoption due to the enormous computing costs involved.
