US Equities Close Lower Amid Sector Declines
US equities closed lower on Wednesday, weighed down by declines in key sectors such as Healthcare, Consumer Services, and Consumer Goods.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.21%, while the S&P 500 index declined 0.02% and the NASDAQ Composite lost 0.08%.
Among the top performers on the Dow Jones were Honeywell International Inc, which rose 2.31% to $220.67, Caterpillar Inc up 1.31% to $821.93, and Apple Inc gaining 1.15% to $313.45 in late trade.
In contrast, Nike Inc led the losers with a decline of 2.25%, followed by Merck & Company Inc down 2.14% and International Business Machines shedding 1.84%.
