US-Iran Crisis Sends Oil Prices Soaring Amid Market Volatility
The US-Iran crisis sent shockwaves through markets on Monday, driving oil prices higher and causing losses in major indices.
US crude futures rose to $83.23 a barrel, while international benchmark Brent settled at $89.22.
The S&P 500 dropped 0.2%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.6%, and the Nasdaq 100 remained flat.
Chipmakers, however, staged a comeback, with Nvidia (NVDA) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) leading gains in the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH).
