US Marine and Systems Engineer Jim D'Arcangelo Dies at 96
Jim D'Arcangelo, a 96-year-old US Marine and systems engineer, passed away on August 12, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Milford, MA, he graduated from Milford High School's Class of 1947 and worked for over 80 years, starting at 14 in a local fruit store and ending at 94 with the US Postal Service.
Jim served his country for over 50 years, including tours in Korea, Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Vietnam. He also had a 20-year career in systems engineering at Honeywell and worked for 32 years as an electronic technician at the USPS.
His family was his greatest achievement, with all four of his children attending top universities. Jim's strong sense of right and wrong, service to others, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
