US Stock Market Closes Lower Amid Sector Losses
The US stock market closed lower on Monday, as losses in key sectors led to decreased share values.
According to data from Investing.com, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.11%, with Chevron Corp leading gains among top performers at 4.48% or $8.35 to trade at $194.91.
In contrast, NVIDIA Corporation fell by 2.85% or $6.38 to $217.58, and Travelers Companies declined by 2.26% or $8.69 to $375.62.
The NASDAQ Composite index also experienced a decline of 0.32%, while the S&P 500 index lost 0.06%. The CBOE Volatility Index rose 3.76% to 15.46, indicating increased market uncertainty.
