US Stocks Close Lower Amid Mixed Market Performance
U.S. stock markets closed lower on Tuesday, despite some notable gains in specific sectors and companies.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.63%, while the S&P 500 index lost 0.45% and the NASDAQ Composite declined by 0.78%.
Chevron Corp led the gainers with a 2.64% increase, followed by 3M Company and Honeywell International Inc. Nike Inc, on the other hand, was one of the biggest losers, down 2.24%, along with Amazon.com Inc and Walt Disney Company.
On the NASDAQ Composite, Skyworks Solutions Inc rose 13.55% to $90.00, while Qorvo Inc gained 9.34%. However, some companies saw significant declines, such as Axon Enterprise Inc down 9.81%, Jack Henry & Associates Inc losing 6.37%, and Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc down 5.94%.
