US Stocks Plunge Amid Sector-Wide Losses
The United States stock market closed lower on Thursday, as losses in key sectors weighed down shares.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 1.31%, while the S&P 500 index fell 0.86% and the NASDAQ Composite lost 1.00%.
Travelers Companies led gains among the Dow's top performers, rising 0.63% to $364.49. McDonald's Corporation also gained 0.63% to $269.13, while Walt Disney Company added 0.36% to $107.32.
However, losses were seen in Walmart Inc, which fell 9.15% to $103.84, and Boeing Co, which declined by 3.20% to $215.10.
