US Stocks Slide Amid Sector-Wide Losses
U.S. stocks closed lower on Friday, weighed down by losses in key sectors.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.02% to close at a certain value, while the S&P 500 index fell 0.25%, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 0.52%.
A few companies bucked the trend: Amazon.com Inc rose 3.97% or $10.17 to trade at $266.43, Nike Inc added 3.02% or $1.16 to end at $39.60, and McDonald’s Corporation was up 1.90% or $4.94 to settle at $265.00.
However, other companies suffered significant losses: NVIDIA Corporation fell 4.58% or $10.43 to trade at $217.55, 3M Company declined 2.51% or $4.49 to end at $174.34, and Caterpillar Inc was down 2.05% or $16.75 to $800.25.
