US Stocks Slump as Dow Hits One-Month Low Amid Sector-Wide Declines
U.S. stocks closed lower on Wednesday, driven by losses in key sectors including Telecoms, Consumer Services, and Industrials.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.77% to a one-month low, with the S&P 500 down 0.48% and the NASDAQ Composite declining 0.64%.
IBM was among the best performers on the Dow, rising 3.38% or $7.85 to $239.94. Chevron Corp also gained 1.91% or $4.01 to reach an all-time high of $213.81.
In contrast, Boeing Co led the decliners on the Dow, falling 2.05% or $4.31 to $206.42. Other notable losers included Procter & Gamble Company and Salesforce Inc.
