US Stocks Soar on Friday as Key Sectors Gain Ground
US stock markets closed on a high note on Friday, driven by gains in key sectors such as telecoms, industrials, and consumer services. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.98%, while the S&P 500 index climbed 0.86% and the NASDAQ Composite added 0.96%. Cisco Systems Inc led the gainers with a 4.37% increase to $112.13, followed by International Business Machines at 3.96% to $243.29, and Boeing Co at 2.76% to $210.45.
The top performers on the S&P 500 included Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co with a 12.44% rise to $62.09, Dell Technologies Inc up 11.98% to $567.29, and NetApp Inc gaining 8.56% to close at $199.31.
The worst performers on the S&P 500 were FMC Corporation down 5.63% to $11.40 in late trade, Albemarle Corp losing 3.76% to settle at $117.52 and Seagate Technology PLC down 3.73% to $830.17.
