US Stocks Surge as Profits Skyrocket Amid Easing Oil Prices

The US stock market is nearing records as corporate profits continue to soar and oil prices ease. The S&P 500 jumped 1.9% and is on track to surpass its all-time high set a couple of months ago, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 1,009 points to its own record.

The surge in stock prices comes despite concerns about high inflation, the war in Iran, and a potential bubble in the market due to euphoria around artificial-intelligence technology. However, profits are up significantly for companies such as Palantir Technologies and Caterpillar, with the AI company reporting a 93% increase in revenue.

The ease of oil prices also contributed to the market's growth, with Brent crude falling 5.4% to $79.25 per barrel. This helped to alleviate concerns about inflation and reduced pressure on the overall economy.
