US Stocks Surge as Unexpected Job Cuts Raise Hopes for Rate Relief
US stocks rose on Wall Street Friday after the government reported that employers unexpectedly cut 23,000 jobs last month.
The S&P 500 index jumped 47.68 points, or 0.6%, to 7,757.64, surpassing its all-time high set on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 151.83 points, or 0.3%, to 54,036.93, just shy of the record it reached on Wednesday.
Technology stocks led the charge, with Nvidia gaining 2.3% and Broadcom rising 1.7%.
