Van ECK Associates Corp Invests Heavily in The Travelers Companies Inc.
Van ECK Associates Corp has made a significant investment in The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TRV) by buying a new stake of approximately $11.24 million worth of shares during the second quarter.
The fund purchased 34,056 shares valued at around $11,243,000, according to its most recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
This investment is just one of several made by various hedge funds in TRV during the second quarter. Hsbc Holdings PLC increased its holdings in the company's stock by 8.8% during this period, while Wellington Management Group LLP lifted its position in TRV by 9.7% during the same time.
The Travelers Companies reported a quarterly earnings per share (EPS) of $10.04, beating the consensus estimate of $5.41 by $4.63. The company's revenue for the quarter was $12.15 billion, up 0.3% compared to the same period last year.
On July 17th, TRV posted its quarterly earnings data and announced a quarterly dividend of $1.25 per share, which will be paid on September 30th to shareholders of record as of September 10th.
