Verizon Bolsters 6G Innovation Forum with Nine Industry Powerhouses
Verizon has expanded its 6G Innovation Forum (6GIF) with nine new members, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco, Intel, Keysight Technologies, MediaTek, NVIDIA, Palo Alto Networks, Rohde & Schwarz, and VIAVI Solutions.
The forum aims to establish an open, diversified, and resilient 6G ecosystem and develop foundational 6G technologies. The expanded forum now includes founding members Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia, Meta, and Qualcomm Technologies, as well as the new additions.
Verizon highlighted recent successful field trials with Samsung and Qualcomm Technologies, which targeted Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) use cases. ISAC transforms cellular networks into distributed radar-like sensors without physical cameras, offering a dual function for future wireless networks.
