Verizon Expands Google Cloud Partnership for Sweeping AI Rollout
Verizon has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to deploy Gemini AI across its enterprise. The carrier aims to cut costs, reduce customer churn, and unlock new revenue from AI infrastructure.
The deal builds on a longstanding relationship between the two companies and represents one of the most sweeping AI rollouts in the US telecom sector.
Verizon will use Google Cloud's full-stack AI capabilities to break down data silos and create uniform processes across the business. The technology is expected to lay the groundwork for an acceleration of its AI strategy, which has become central to improving customer experience and retaining users following net losses in 2024 and 2025.
The partnership will deploy Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, which already handles the majority of Verizon's inbound consumer calls and chats each month. The carrier plans to use Gemini's conversational and multimodal capabilities as an AI-first toolbox for customers, including updates to its automated resolution platform.
