Verizon Expands Google Cloud Partnership for Widespread AI Integration
Verizon and Google Cloud have expanded their AI partnership to help the telecom provider scale its use of artificial intelligence across various areas of the business. The companies announced a strategic partnership on August 24, which will see Verizon utilize Google Cloud's AI and data technologies to support customer interactions, network operations, marketing, security, and employee productivity.
The partnership focuses on improving customer experience (CX) with the introduction of Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience into Verizon's existing Google Cloud contact center technology. This integration aims to give customer service representatives more time to handle complex issues by automating routine tasks.
However, the bigger story is Verizon's use of AI beyond the contact center. The company plans to leverage Google Cloud technology in its autonomous network intelligence framework, designed to identify and address network problems before they affect customers. This initiative also includes applications involving marketing, security, and employee productivity.
