Verizon Teams Up with Google Cloud for Enterprise-Wide AI Push
Verizon has teamed up with Google Cloud to push its AI capabilities across various aspects of its business. The partnership will see Verizon use Google's full AI stack to modernize customer experiences, unify enterprise data, and scale AI usage throughout the company.
The move is part of a larger effort by Verizon to consolidate legacy data lakes onto Google's Agentic Data Cloud, which has reduced data silos and operational overheads. This groundwork laid the foundation for the current AI push, according to the companies.
Verizon will be applying Google Cloud's AI tools to various areas, including customer experience, network operations, and internal functions. On the customer side, the company is already using Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, which has delivered measurable improvements in customer satisfaction and automated resolution rates. It now handles most of Verizon's inbound consumer calls and chats each month.
The partnership also aims to build an autonomous network, with Verizon working towards Level 4 autonomous network operations. This could deliver up to 35% in projected operations and maintenance cost savings.
