Veteran CFP Derek Thegen Rearden Passes Away at 84
Derek Thegen Rearden, an experienced certified financial planner (CFP), passed away on August 7, 2026, at the age of 84. He spent over 60 years with his loving wife Elaine and was a devoted father to four children: Michael, Thomas, Susan, and John.
Rearden worked alongside his sons and son-in-law at Ameriprise Financial in Voorhees, New Jersey, where he made a meaningful impact on the lives of his clients. He dedicated 25 years to Procter & Gamble before joining Ameriprise. Family members will gather for a visitation at St. Frances Cabrini Church of St. Damien Parish in Ocean City, New Jersey, on September 4, 2026.
A memorial service will follow the visitation, and a livestream will be available online. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Legion Post 524 in memory of Derek T. Rearden.
