Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787 Lands Safely Back in Munich After Takeoff Incident
A Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787 was forced to return to Munich Airport after takeoff on Saturday due to technical problems. The flight, bound for Hanoi, had reportedly overrun the runway during departure and had to circle for over two hours to burn fuel.
According to flight-tracking website Flightradar24, the plane took off with a large cloud of dust trailing behind it. Vietnam Airlines stated that the flight returned to its departure airport after takeoff due to a 'technical issue', but did not provide further details about the problem.
The aircraft was unable to taxi off the north runway under its own power and remained stranded, forcing the closure of the north runway and rerouting of air traffic via the south runway. The airline assured that the passengers and cabin crew members are safe.
