Vietnam Airlines Dreamliner Makes Emergency Landing After Wild Takeoff

A Vietnam Airlines Dreamliner took off from Munich Airport on August 16th at around 2 PM, but instead of soaring into the skies, it careened wildly over the end of the runway and had to make an emergency landing.

The Boeing 787-9, with flight number VN34, was attempting to depart from the southernmost runway (26L) bound for Hanoi. However, eyewitnesses reported that the plane rolled approximately 120 meters past the end of the runway before finally taking off into the air.

A passenger, who wishes to remain anonymous, described the experience as 'horrific.' She recounted how she and her family were filming the takeoff when they suddenly realized the gravity of the situation. The crew then instructed passengers to prepare for an emergency landing by putting on their life jackets and securing themselves in their seats.

The plane eventually landed safely, but with significant damage to its undercarriage. Passengers reported that one of the main wheels was smoking after touching down, and that debris from the damaged tires lay strewn across the runway.
