Villains Land Expansion Unveils Dark Twist on Classic Fairytales

The Walt Disney Company has unveiled new details about its upcoming Villains Land expansion at Magic Kingdom. The land will be themed around classic fairytales, where characters stray from the safe path into a foreboding forest.

Upon entering Villains Land, guests will encounter a Wishing Well with a dark twist. According to Disney, 'someone made an evil wish here, a wish so evil it corrupted the stone and broke open the structure, spreading the Well's poisoned magic throughout the forest.'

The villains have come to claim the last of the Wishing Well's power, shaping Villains Land into a land of dark magic. The Imagineering team confirmed that the park expansion is now officially known as Villains Land.

Disney also revealed new details about two headlining attractions: Maleficent's Coaster and a new dark ride featuring the Magic Mirror. The coaster will bring guests face-to-face with the Mistress of All Evil herself, while the dark ride will feature an array of Disney villains hosted by the Magic Mirror.
