Virgin Atlantic Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Bengaluru After Technical Issue
A Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 aircraft made an emergency landing at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru after developing a technical issue shortly after takeoff. The flight, VS317, was scheduled to depart from Terminal 2 for London Heathrow Airport at around 8:20 a.m.
The crew identified the problem while still relatively close to the departure airport and continued to assess the situation before returning to Bengaluru. Instead of continuing on the planned route, they kept the aircraft near Tumakuru for over 30 minutes before bringing it back to the airport.
According to BIAL sources, all passengers on board were safe following the landing, which was handled as an emergency return due to the technical malfunction. The specific cause of the issue has not been disclosed, and authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the aircraft's return.
