Visa Cuts 2,600 Jobs Amid AI-Driven Restructuring Efforts
Visa has announced significant job cuts, laying off around 2,600 employees globally. This move accounts for nearly 7% of its global workforce, according to its 2025 annual report.
The company's workforce currently stands at around 34,100 people worldwide, an 8% increase from the previous year. The layoffs span multiple countries, with India being one of the worst affected regions. The technology and product teams in India have reportedly been significantly impacted.
Visa attributes these job cuts to its strategy of reshaping its business around artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and long-term growth. According to CEO Ryan McInerney, the company is focused on driving efficiency across the organisation so it can reinvest in high-potential opportunities.
