Visa has announced a significant surge in stablecoin settlement volume, reaching an annualized run rate of over $20 billion. This figure is more than 15 times higher than it was a year ago and represents a nearly 200% year-over-year increase in payment volume across its card programs linked to stablecoins.

In the second quarter of fiscal 2026, Visa reported that over 160 card programs tied to stablecoins were operating worldwide. The company's partnership with Credit Coop has enabled it to provide stablecoin credit lines to card program operators for daily settlement, which has helped reduce borrowing costs by up to 30%.

Rain was one of the first companies to use Visa's model and has relied on Credit Coop financing since 2023, accounting for about $2 billion of its cumulative financing. Visa is expanding its stablecoin products, with plans to reach over 100 countries by the end of 2026 in partnership with Stripe-owned Bridge.
