Visa Takes Breather After Record-Breaking Run as Value-Added Services Revenue Surges
Visa's record-breaking run took a brief breather on Tuesday morning as its shares slipped by 0.2% to $381.62, but that modest dip came after closing at a new high of $382.41 the previous session.
The stock had surged 2.4% to $380.25 on Monday and touched $381.91 intraday, pushing deeper into record territory even as the Nasdaq faltered.
Visa's strong performance reflects investors' confidence in the company's ability to process payments at a relentless clip, despite Walmart's cautious outlook on consumer spending.
The payments giant's fiscal third-quarter results showed revenue climbing 14% to $11.6 billion, adjusted net income reaching $6.3 billion, and processed transactions increasing by 10% to 71.7 billion.
However, the most striking figure was value-added services revenue, which surged approximately 33%, roughly 2.4 times faster than the company's overall growth rate.
