Volare Air Group Revives Northeast Airlines Brand for Cargo Operations
A new airline is set to launch in 2027 under the name Northeast Airlines and Travel, Inc. This marks the second attempt by Volare Air Group to revive the brand, with the first effort failing due to a lack of funding in the 2010s.
The company has already begun the FAA certification process and plans to operate Boeing 737-800BCFs for scheduled cargo flights. In contrast to its predecessor, this new iteration will not be operating passenger flights.
Northeast Airlines is seeking Part 121 certification, which governs companies operating scheduled flights with large commercial transport aircraft. This includes airlines like American Airlines and United Airlines, as well as cargo carriers like FedEx Express.
