Spanish low-cost airline Vueling plans to expand its use of the Boeing 737 Max 8-200 aircraft type on several routes from Barcelona in its summer 2027 flight schedule.

The aircraft, designed for up to 197 passengers, will be deployed on routes to Brussels, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Milan-Malpensa, Munich, and Porto, among others. This decision is part of a group-wide capacity reallocation within IAG, the parent company of Vueling.

The Boeing 737 Max 8-200 allows for high-density seating, enabling Vueling to increase seats per flight compared to conventional aircraft in its size class. However, industry experts point out that reduced legroom at maximum cabin occupancy can impair passenger comfort.
