Wake Tech Welcomes New Trustees Amid Ongoing Expansion Efforts
Wake Tech's Board of Trustees has welcomed four new members for a term that will run until 2030. Among them is Paul Lewus, vice president and head of site operations for Amgen North Carolina, who brings over two decades of experience in the industry to the table.
Lewus was appointed by the North Carolina House of Representatives and will serve on the board for a four-year term. He has held leadership roles at Amgen since 2004, including positions in site operations, quality, plant management, and process development across multiple locations.
In addition to Lewus, returning trustees Jamie Thomas and Dr. Saundra Williams have also taken their oaths of office. Thomas, who serves as general manager of strategy and development at IBM, is a veteran member of the board with two previous terms under his belt. He was reappointed by the North Carolina Senate.
Dr. Williams, meanwhile, has been serving on the board since 2020 and was appointed by the Wake County Board of Commissioners. She brings extensive experience as senior vice president and chief of information technology at the North Carolina Community College System to her role as a trustee.
