Wall Street Cautious Amid Retail Earnings, Fed Minutes
Wall Street started the week on a cautious note as investors eyed a packed week of retail earnings, Fed minutes, and fresh signals on AI infrastructure spending.
The S&P 500 came off three straight weekly gains, with nearly half of participating retail traders expecting the index to rise more than 1% this week, according to a Stocktwits poll.
U.S. stock futures were mixed early Monday, with Nasdaq futures rising 0.5%, while S&P 500 and Dow futures rose 0.1% and fell 0.1%, respectively.
This week's earnings reports from Home Depot, Target, and Walmart will test U.S. consumer spending amid ongoing inflationary pressure.
