Walmart Aims to Redefine Apparel Image with Fashion Week Pop-Up
Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) is revamping its apparel image by launching a fashion pop-up in New York City during New York Fashion Week.
The event features private label clothing lines, including Free Assembly and Scoop, which are being developed as part of the company's broader effort to elevate its apparel offering.
Pricing remains firmly in Walmart's traditional value territory, with cashmere sweaters from Free Assembly available for $45 and fleece items priced at $28.
The pop-up also highlights Avia, the debut of Walmart’s new modern-bohemian label Scenario, and fresh designs from designer Brandon Maxwell.
Walmart's goal is to maintain affordability while making clothing feel more considered and intentional rather than a secondary category.
