Walmart Beats Estimates With Strong Q2 Earnings
Walmart Inc. (WMT) reported strong second-quarter fiscal 2027 results, beating both top and bottom-line estimates.
The retail giant's adjusted earnings per share came in at 81 cents, a 19.1% increase from the year-ago quarter's 68 cents, and topped the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 73 cents.
Total revenues increased 5.9% year over year to $187.9 billion, exceeding the consensus estimate of $186.3 billion, while on a constant-currency basis, revenues rose 5.1%.
Walmart's e-commerce sales surged 23%, driven by store-fulfilled pickup and delivery services along with marketplace expansion, while global advertising business rose 38% and Walmart U.S. advertising revenues increased 38%.
