Shares of Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) rose by 1.3% on Friday, trading as high as $107.21 and closing at $107.15.
The stock saw a significant decline in daily volume, with only 16,647,802 shares changing hands, down 35% from the average daily volume of 25,486,074 shares.
Despite this, analysts remain optimistic about Walmart's prospects, with DA Davidson reaffirming its 'buy' rating and setting a price target of $132, while BTIG Research also maintained a 'buy' rating with a target of $140.
The expansion of Walmart's tap-to-pay rollout to support Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, contactless cards, and wearables is seen as a positive development for the company, improving checkout convenience and its omnichannel strategy.
