Walt Disney World's Last Hope: One Man's Desperate Bid to Keep Magic Alive
A new novel by Laughing Place contributor Bill Gowsell explores a haunting scenario at Walt Disney World. In 'The Last Man at the Happiest Place on Earth,' Jim returns to work after being sick with a mysterious virus.
Initially unaware of what's happening, Jim discovers an empty Magic Kingdom when he arrives for his shift. The streets are deserted, and there's no sign of guests or fellow Cast Members.
Jim soon realizes the virus has killed everyone else, leaving him to navigate a post-apocalyptic Walt Disney World. While the resort provides essentials like food and accommodations, Jim faces a new challenge: finding a reason to keep going.
As days turn into weeks and months, Jim discovers purpose in his former workplace. He begins to care for the massive resort, attempting to keep its magic alive despite being the only Cast Member left.
