Walt Disney World's Off-Season Disappears into Summer

The notion that Walt Disney World's traditional off-season is disappearing has some merit. While it's true that crowds have become more consistent throughout the year, the data suggests a shift in when exactly the busiest months are.

Wait times at Walt Disney World averaged around 30 minutes from May to July this year, which was lower than expected. In fact, the average wait time for June and July was only one minute higher than September last year, traditionally considered part of the off-season.

The typical pattern of crowds peaking in March and then decreasing until September has largely held true, but with some notable exceptions this summer. The busiest days were immediately after Memorial Day and August 3-7, while Sunday, July 5 was the least busy day at Walt Disney World since October last year.

While it's difficult to pinpoint exactly when the off-season now is, the trend suggests that it may have shifted into the summer months. However, it's essential to note that wait times are not always a perfect measure of in-park congestion and crowds.
