Walton Family Dumps $535M in Walmart Stock Amid Valuation Concerns

Instruments
WMT
Share

The Walton Family's trust recently sold approximately $535 million worth of Walmart (WMT) stock through various transactions. The sale was disclosed last week, and the shares were disposed of at an average price of around $120.99 per share.

Despite the substantial block of shares being sold, the trust remains a significant owner of Walmart with over 502 million shares still held. Nicholas Christopher James, Executive Vice President at Walmart, also sold 2,900 WMT shares worth $342,752 in the same timeframe.

The stock has fallen more than 12% from its May record high after a strong rally earlier this year. Valuation concerns and bearish retail sentiment have weighed on the stock, with some investors questioning whether Walmart's valuation is justified given future earnings expectations.
