Warburg Pincus Set to Acquire Universal NutriScience for ₹2,700-2,800 Crore
Warburg Pincus has emerged as the frontrunner to acquire Universal NutriScience (UNS), maker of India's leading cod liver oil capsule brand Seacod, for a whopping ₹2,700-2,800 crore.
This proposed deal is part of Warburg's strategy to build a scaled domestic pharmaceuticals platform in India by stitching together small and midsize companies to tap into the country's growing branded formulations market.
The US fund trumped bids from ChrysCapital, Procter & Gamble, TA Associates, and Haleon, which submitted firm offers earlier this month.
