Warrior Games Return to Walt Disney World in 2027 with New Adaptive Sport

The Warrior Games are returning to Walt Disney World in August 2027 for its third iteration at the resort. This adaptive sports competition brings together nearly 200 athletes across 12 sports, including a new addition: Adaptive Pickleball.

Fisher House and the Wounded Warrior Project, two long-time sponsors of the Games, spoke about the importance of this event for wounded service members. According to Fisher House, the Games allow these athletes to 'feel like they are back in the field' and part of a team again. The Wounded Warrior Project echoed this sentiment, noting that the camaraderie between service members is something many have been missing since their injuries.

The event was also notable for Disney's commitment to live coverage, with ESPN8: The Ocho broadcasting from the site despite a packed broadcast day. This marks the second time in two weeks the complex has made headlines for pickleball, following the Major League Pickleball Orlando finale.
