Wayfair Pins Growth Hopes on Internal Execution

Wayfair, an online home-furnishings retailer, took center stage at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference in September 2026. The company's CEO Nir Kossovsky and CFO Kate Gulliver presented a growth plan that relies less on external factors and more on their own execution.

Wayfair is pressing ahead with technology upgrades, store openings, and new customer programs despite the flat housing market and weak broader category growth. Management highlighted faster sales growth, a larger logistics network, and improving margins as key drivers of future share gains.

The company sees an addressable market of $400 billion to $500 billion across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland but notes that the category is growing only about 3.5% to 4% annually.

Wayfair's logistics network, covering over 20 million square feet across more than 75 facilities, is seen as a key moat that rivals would struggle to copy.
