Weil and Google Unveil Gemini Enterprise for Legal
Google's Gemini Enterprise for Legal has been developed in collaboration with leading US law firm Weil, according to Andrew Simon, Chief AI & Innovation Officer at Weil. The new platform combines Google's language models and supporting infrastructure to provide a centralized and user-friendly interface for legal professionals.
Weil contributed to the development of two applications within Gemini Enterprise for Legal: parallel research agents and NDA drafting. These tools aim to amplify deep research capabilities and automate document drafting, respectively.
Simon emphasized that Weil is not just using Gemini Enterprise for Legal but has also helped develop some of its applications. He sees the platform as a way to reduce friction and centralize work within the legal industry.
Weil's strategy involves three buckets: enablement, building custom applications, and developing advanced capabilities. Simon believes that legal tech companies like Harvey and Legora play different roles in each bucket, but Gemini Enterprise for Legal provides a centralized interface to access these tools.
