Welch & Forbes, Norges Bank Boost Stakes in IBM Amid Quantum Computing Hype

Institutional investors have been increasing their stakes in International Business Machines (IBM) stock. Welch & Forbes LLC, for instance, boosted its position by 30.4% during the second quarter and now owns $19,591,000 worth of IBM shares.

Norges Bank, another institutional investor, purchased a new stake in IBM during the fourth quarter valued at about $2,446,429,000. Capital World Investors also raised its holdings by 29.2% during the same period and now owns 22,021,912 shares of IBM stock worth $6,523,720,000.

The institutional investors' increased interest in IBM may be driven by several factors. IBM's recent advancements in quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI) could position the company for significant growth in the future.
