West Farms Affordable Housing Lottery Launches for Four Units

A new affordable housing lottery has launched in West Farms for four units at 2074 Honeywell Ave. The 6-story residential building features a mix of market-rate and affordable housing, with 16 units available at market rate and four units set aside for those earning 80% of the area median income.

The two studio apartments up for grabs in the lottery have a monthly rent of $2,000 each, while the two one-bedroom units cost $2,092 per month. To qualify, applicants must meet specific income and asset limits, with annual household incomes ranging from $75,840 to $108,560 for studios and $81,326 to $122,160 for one-bedroom apartments.

The building offers a range of amenities, including a bike storage room, outdoor recreation space, elevator, and accessible entrance. Smoking is not allowed inside the property, and tenants will be responsible for their own electricity costs.

Mass transportation options are readily available in the area, with the West Farms Square-East Tremont Avenue subway station just a short distance away, providing service for the 2 and 5 trains, as well as several bus lines. The property is also close to local parks, schools, and cultural attractions.
