West Hartford Resident Neil Griffin Dies at 91
Neil Joseph Griffin, a 91-year-old resident of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026. He was born on March 25, 1935, in Waterbury, Connecticut. Griffin attended local schools and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Western New England College.
He built a career during the early years of the computer and technology industry, working for Honeywell Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation. In 1967, he met his wife Carol Chamberlain Griffin at Rockledge Country Club, and they married in 1968. The couple raised their four children together in Glastonbury, where they made it their home for 48 years.
Griffin was actively involved in the community and spent many years coaching youth sports. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol; their children Neil Jr., Patricia, David, and Brian; several grandchildren; and his sister Mary Catherine Griffin.
