Western Union Debuts Stablecard, Expanding USDPT Payments Globally
Western Union has launched Stablecard, a new product that enables customers in 37 markets to use its USDPT stablecoin for payments through a digital wallet paired with a Visa card.
The service, developed with stablecoin infrastructure provider Rain, allows users to receive, store and spend the company's USDPT stablecoin through a digital wallet. This is made possible by the integration of a digital wallet with a Visa card, providing users with access to a global merchant network and compatible ATMs for withdrawals.
Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, Stablecard supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, and requires identity verification before accessing the service. No credit check or minimum account balance is required, although local fees may apply to certain transactions.
