Windows 11 Boot Times Set for Significant Speed Bump
Microsoft is working on improving the performance of Windows 11, specifically focusing on boot times. According to a recent statement by Mark Linton, VP of Windows & Devices at Microsoft, 'we've made significant gains' in reducing startup speeds.
The improvements are not yet available in preview builds but should be rolled out soon. This effort is part of Microsoft's broader goal to make Windows 11 faster overall, ensuring responsive menus and quicker app loading times. A CPU-boosting feature known as 'Low Latency Profile' has already been introduced.
Microsoft is also committed to optimizing Windows 11 for lower-end hardware, specifically 8GB laptops that are experiencing a resurgence due to the RAM crisis driving up notebook prices. Linton stated that 'we're continuing to improve on the fundamentals,' and 'we're optimizing so that 8 gig of RAM runs great on machines as well.'
