Windows 11 Bug Allows Users to Bypass Mandatory Microsoft Account Login
A bug has been discovered in Windows 11 Home Edition that allows users to bypass the mandatory Microsoft account login requirement.
According to a report from Windows Latest, clicking on the small 'learn more' link in the paragraph about sign-in options, rather than the big blue 'Next' button, allows users to skip ahead to the 'Who's going to use this device?' screen and create a local account.
The bypass was first found by @TheBobPony on X and has only been tested in Windows Insider preview builds. However, PC Gamer was able to replicate the process on a fresh installation of a non-Insider Preview build of Windows 11.
This discovery is particularly interesting given that Microsoft has been working to make it harder to install Windows without an internet connection and a Microsoft account for some time now.
