Microsoft has confirmed that a bug in Windows 11 is preventing users from accessing their C drive, causing apps and system tools to malfunction. The issue was reported after installing the February 2026 security update.

Affected users may encounter an error message saying 'C:\ is not accessible, Access denied', which blocks access to files and prevents the launch of applications including Outlook, Office apps, web browsers, and system utilities.

The bug appears to affect a limited set of Windows 11 devices, primarily Samsung computers. The affected models include systems such as NP750XGJ, NP750XGL, NP754XGJ, NP754XFG, NP754XGK, DM500SGA, DM500TDA, DM500TGA, and DM501SGA.

Microsoft has confirmed that the issue is caused by a Samsung application called Galaxy Connect software. To mitigate further problems, Microsoft has temporarily removed the app from distribution and provided recovery steps for affected users.
