Windows 11 Emergency Update Released to Fix Issues Caused by Patch Tuesday
Microsoft has released an emergency update for Windows 11 to fix issues caused by last week's Patch Tuesday release. The update, KB5129195, is a mandatory out-of-band cumulative update that addresses several problems, including Remote Desktop Services and Hyper-V fixes.
The patch also resolves an elevation of privilege flaw in the User-Mode Power Service. However, it does not address issues with Radeon GPU black screens, driver timeouts, explorer.exe crashes, or File History failing to detect external drives.
Microsoft has acknowledged that it is working on a resolution for these remaining problems. In the meantime, users who are experiencing issues may want to consider rolling back to an earlier version of Windows 11, but this would also mean losing security fixes from last week's patch.
