Windows 11 Gets Long-Awaited Update with Customizable Context Menu
Microsoft has finally released new preview builds for Windows 11 Insiders after a 15-day drought in early August. The company made five preview builds available across different channels, including Experimental and Beta, on August 17.
The biggest change is the redesigned context menu, which is now fully customizable, simpler, and faster. It reduces clutter while keeping common actions easily accessible.
Users can now choose the options they want to appear in the main context menu, such as 'Send to,' 'Print,' and 'Create shortcut.' The new 'Customize menu' option allows users to open the Context menu page in Settings > Personalization.
The desktop background experience has also been improved with several fixes and enhancements. For example, the Background page is now more reliable, previews render at higher resolution, and desktop slideshow transitions are more dependable.
