A recent Windows 11 update has broken the copy and paste feature in Microsoft Excel. This is just one of several issues that have been discovered in Windows 11 since September, including problems with Hyper-V Linux folder shares, Remote Desktop, and USB audio.

The bug affects users who are running Microsoft Excel 2024, 2021, 2019, or 2016. When trying to paste content into a document, the source remains selected but the destination is unmodified, without any indication of failure.

Microsoft has confirmed that it is aware of the issue and is researching a solution. The company's Windows K2 initiative aims to reduce pain points and improve the overall Windows 11 experience by improving updates.
